Strategic Plan Update August 2022

In 2020, the City of Rock Valley, Rock Valley Economic Development, and Rock Valley Chamber partnered on a Strategic Plan for our community. Putting together this plan included a community-wide survey, focus groups with a variety of community members, and regular
meetings by the executive committee. A comprehensive plan was put together with follow up meetings scheduled to ensure the variety of projects identified by this plan stay on track.
The Executive Committee meets quarterly to review the Strategic Plan, make adjustments and input to the committee work. The executive committee consists of Mayor Kevin Van Otterloo, Tom Van Mannen, Adam Rosman, David Miller, Ashley Feekes, Maria Maxwell, Mike Post, Rachel Garland, Dan Breuer and Josie Faber.
Recently, the executive committee met for their quarterly meeting. They were updated on various projects and heard updates from various committees. Some highlights from this meeting are listed below:
Updates on the progress of the Rock Valley pool construction
Updates from the trail committee on their 5 and 10 year plans
Updates on a few local businesses that are utilizing the Downtown Facade Grant (hyperlink)
Updated park and shelter house plans that the beautification committee is working on
“We, as a community, are excited to see how the 2020 Strategic Plan is shaping our communities future. We appreciate the committees that are dedicated to their area of specialty and goals they have for our town,” says Mayor Kevin Van Otterloo. There have been many positive impacts that have come from this plan, and the committee is looking forward to seeing other project progress through the pipeline.
