As a local governing body, the Rock Valley City Council is sometimes required by state law to hold a public hearing. A public hearing gives community members the ability to make a statement or give testimony before important decisions are made. All upcoming public hearings will be listed below.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL Legal Services – Nuisance Property Abatement

The City of Rock Valley (“the Municipality”) is seeking proposals from qualified attorneys or law firms to provide legal services related to the abatement of approximately forty (40) nuisance properties located within the jurisdiction. The selected attorney or firm will work in coordination with the Municipality’s code enforcement, police, and planning departments to initiate and pursue legal remedies necessary to abate public nuisances and improve community safety and livability. REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS Demolition of Flood-Impacted Homes – Imminent Threat to Public Safety

The City of Rock Valley, Iowa, is soliciting proposals from qualified demolition contractors to perform the demolition, removal, and disposal of structures deemed unsafe due to severe flood damage. The selected contractor will be responsible for adhering to all applicable environmental, safety, and FEMA regulations and guidelines for asbestos containment during demolition and debris transport. Proposed FY25-26 Budget

The City Council will conduct a public hearing on the proposed budget at 1303 10th Street, Rock Valley, IA on April 24, 2025 at 4pm. At the public hearing, any resident or taxpayer may present objections or arguments in favor of any part of the proposed budget.
