Youth Recreation

Spring Soccer

Spring soccer is open to Kindergarteners through 6th graders. The kids are coached by volunteer parents. It is a FUNdumental league played out at the Sports Complex. Registration opens at the end of February each year. We play Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings starting at the end of April.

Summer Rec

Summer recreation is a youth program offered to youth who have finished Kindergarten to 6th grade. Rock Valley's Summer Recreation Program is a great way to keep your kiddos active and learning in the summer!

2022 Summer Rec Classes

Our summer rec program offers so many fun activities for kids! Youth Rec is a great way to keep your children active and engaged during the summer months away from school.

Participants will learn the basics of the game of basketball: dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, setting screens, and more! Games of pick-up basketball, 3 on 3, knock-out, HORSE, and others will be played.

Offered for girls and boys grades 3-8th

From the basic fundamentals to participating in games - participants will have the chance to learn and enhance their volleyball skills and teamwork skills in a fun learning environment.

This class gives you the opportunity to experience the hobby of quilting in a great learning environment from teachers with years of experience. Projects range from pin cushions to blankets, depending on the level of skill.

Participants will have an opportunity to learn the basics of theatre and fine arts in this activity. Depending on the number of participants, there will be 1-2 plays that will be shown at Parents Night at the end of the rec season.

Participants will learn the basics of cheer and drill. A music routine and cheer routine will be learned throughout the summer and showcased at Parents Night at the end of the rec season.

Does your child love to dance? Then this activity is for them! Participants in this class will learn dance routines to different genres of music that will be showcased at Parents Night at the end of the rec season.

Participants will get to engage in a variety of fun and energetic games that are age-appropriate. Participants will learn some sports skills in a very fun, fast-paced environment.

Participants will get a chance to build on the knowledge and skills of the game of baseball/softball. Coach pitch offers a fun, learning environment where players will get their first chance to hit off of a coach pitching while learning to play all positions of the field.

Participants are introduced to the sport of baseball/softball as they learn the basics of hitting and fielding in a fun environment. A mix of practice and games is used for this activity.

A fun class exploring a variety of arts and crafts, where participants will learn techniques and practices of creating pieces of art.

A class that is designed to give kids the opportunity to explore nature. From working in a green house to geo-cashing, to experiments and more, your child will love this hands-on class.

This class will be a Technology Student Association (TSA) type class where the participants will be in groups each week and have to build something or solve a problem.

This program will play at least two games a week, both at home and away. They will be playing in a league with local towns. They will meet to practice on non-game days at the sports complex. This program offers a great opportunity to learn more about the sport and how to work as a team.

Fall Sports

In the fall, we offer soccer for Kindergarten through 6th grade, flag football for 3-6th graders, and girls volleyball for 5th & 6th grade. Soccer and volleyball are coached by volunteer parents, while our flag football program is coached by our high school football players. Registration opens at the end of July. We start playing fall sports in the middle of February.
