Junk Day Information
Junk Day will be held on May 22, 2024. Junk Day will be held at Bicentennial Park (1800 11th Street) and will happen from 12pm till 8pm on May 22. Rock Valley Citizens can bring their items to the dumpster during this time. Thank you to Post Metal Recycling for accepting metals on behalf of the City.
Disposal of TV's or microwaves require a sticker from the City Office. Stickers are available for $10 and can be purchases until 5pm on Tuesday, May 21st at the City Office. Other than microwaves and TV's, there are NO fees for other appliances.
*There will NOT be any curbside pickup for any items this year.
*The City will NOT accept tires, concrete, or construction waste.
Hazardous Waste Disposal
The City will also have Hazardous Waste Disposal on May 22, 2024 from 9am - 12pm in front of the City Office (1303 10th Street).Hazardous waste includes: Degreasers, waxes, polishes, solvents, lacquers, and thinners, caustic household cleaners, spot and stain removers, pesticides and herbicides and oil based paint. Latex paint will be charged a fee of $1 per gallon.
