Message from City Leaders

Flood 2024

Residents of Rock Valley,

On behalf of the mayor, city council, city staff, and community leaders, we stand with everyone affected by the recent flooding and are committed to supporting Rock Valley through this challenging time.
Many of you are asking, "Where do we go from here?" This is a question we are all grappling with as we navigate the path to recovery.

We are actively developing plans for temporary housing and exploring long-term and permanent solutions. This process involves coordinating resources at local, regional, and state levels, and we are working diligently to bring these efforts to fruition. Your patience is greatly appreciated as we work through these complex logistics.

Our partners, including FEMA, the SBA, Sioux County, the State of Iowa, and neighboring communities, have stepped up to provide support. They are dedicated to finding solutions for our community, and we will continue to share updates with you as soon as they become available. This too requires time and patience.
Each home and business affected by this disaster is vital to our community. Your resilience and contributions make Rock Valley a place of opportunities and strength.

As we transition from response to recovery, we ask for your continued patience and collaboration. Please continue to complete survey requests, reach out to your local leaders, and support one another.
Together, we will overcome this challenge and rebuild a stronger community.
