FEMA Approves Home Buyout for Rock Valley
June 29, 2026
Important update:
The FEMA Housing Buyout has been approved!! We received word today that it has been approved and wanted to share that update with our community. The City of Rock Valley will be working with FEMA to finalize paperwork, etc, but we are excited to finally be moving forward with this step. We will be sharing updates on Facebook at on the city website as we get new information, so please follow along here or at https://www.cityofrockvalley.com/your-government/announcements
We know there are probably lots of questions yet, but we are still waiting on some answers so please be patient with us. We will do our best to share updates as they become available.
As the City moves forward with the flood property acquisition program, we are asking any property owner who has an SBA loan associated with their flood-damaged property or replacement home to please contact the City.
Our goal is to compile a complete list of property owners with SBA loans so we can work directly with the U.S. Small Business Administration to address lien releases as a group rather than having each homeowner work through the process individually. We believe this coordinated approach may help make the process more efficient for everyone.
If the City is unaware that an SBA loan exists, it could delay the purchase of your property while we wait for the SBA to process the necessary lien release.
