Financial Incentives

 

Rock Valley welcomes new business and industry.  With our new industrial/business park, increasing job opportunities, expanding industries, and additional housing, Rock Valley continuews to grow.  We want you to be a part of this exciting time. 

Incentives that may be available to your company include:

 

1. Community Economic Betterment Account (CEBA)

This is a State of Iowa Program to encourage expansion of existing industry and new and relocated industries in Iowa.  It provides grants and low interest loans to companies that hire new employees.

 

2. Job Training Assistance

There are several federal and State programs available to assist industries in training new employees, as well as retraining workers.  Our work force is hard working, loyal, well educated and productive.

 

3. City/County Tax Abatement

A local 5 year tax abatement program allows industries a 75% to 15% property tax reduction on new construction.  Iowa has no tax on machinery and equipment.

 

4. County Loan Fund

Sioux County offers low interest loans to new and expanding industry.

 

5. Regional Loan Fund

The region also offers loans at interest rates below prime.

 

6. Local Utility Incentives

MidAmerican Energy Company offers a variety of incentives to new industries.  Industrial ulitily rates are well below the national average and special rates can be negotiated.

 

7. TIF Financing

The City of Rock Valley offers low cost fully developed land in the new Westview Business Park.  We can also offer favorable financing on new construction and/or expansions.

 

8. Value-Added Agricultural Products & Process 
    Financial Assistance

This State program provides financial assistance to new and existing companies that utilize agricultural commodities to create new, higher-value products or produce renewable fuels and co-products.

 

9. Iowa New Jobs and Income Program

This program provides financial assistance to new and existing companies that utilize agricultural commodities to create new, higher-value products or produce renewable fuels and co-products.

 

10. Local Revolving Loan Fund

Rock Valley has a local revolving loan fund that has been a very successful incentive.  This fund is used to assist both expanding and business start-ups.

 

There are several other programs available to both large and small businesses and industries that expand, relocate or begin here.  Economic Development Director David Miller works with each company to personally assist with these programs and anything else you may need.  We make it easy for you to do business in Rock Valley.
