Expansion at Quality Machining
The company will expand its production of industrial and commercial jacks and related products. This new product line will add some 14 new jobs to the company. The $800,000 project will add machines, paint booths, equipment and warehousing. The company received financial assistance from Sioux County, Rock Valley and the regional loan funds as well as job training funds through the area community college.

Rock Mills Enterprises
Rock Valley has landed a new industry that produces and markets manhole cover lifters. This unique hydraulic product mounts on a pickup and then lifts and resets manhole covers. The product will be produced in Rock Valley and marketed around the country and worldwide. The company received financial incentives from the RVEDC loan fund as well as loans from the county and regional funds.

MID-SIOUX OFFERS HEATING ASSISTANCE
Mid-Sioux Opportunity, Inc. will be taking applications through April 15, 2009 for the Low-income Home Energy Assistance Program (LiHEAP). This program is funded by the Department of Health and Human Services through the Iowa Department of Human Rights/DCAA, and has been established to help qualifying low-income Iowa homeowners and renters pay for a portion of their primary heating costs.

Siouxland Homemakers Meeting
The Siouxland Homemakers will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25th at the home of J. Van Grootheest. Hostess will be W. Swier, E. Boon will be having devotions and J. Van Berkum will be in charge or recreation. B. Boon will be directing the craft project and reminds everyone to bring scissors and glue guns if you have one.
